Bamboo is an extraordinary versatile plant, that has been used as a building material since the beginning of human civilisation. Curiously enough, it is still relevant today: it could even play an important role in contemporary and sustainable construction and design. For the first time, Ikebana, KaHo Sint-Lieven, Bebamboo and Domus Mundi organise a seminar about the subject, in order to promote and to map the potentialities of this remarkable plant. Eleven enthousiastic experts will talk about the following subjects:

- the promotion of bamboo in Europe
- advantages of bamboo fibres in composite materials
